As a trainee with the Lufthansa Technik Engine Services sales team, I've had the chance to dive into the world of engine maintenance and sales. Learning how engines function, how maintenance plans are structured, and how operators navigate the bidding process has been incredibly eye-opening. I had the privilege to work with colleagues of 8 different stations across North and South America, assessing the branding and promotion of the business unit both internally and externally and developing products to help augment our presence going forwards.
LTCS in Tulsa, Oklahoma is the backbone of Technik in the Americas. It is one of our largest production facilities across the globe where components and engines undergo maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
Working on the production side of Technik in the MRO facility is quite special because every day you see the impact of your work. Developing a process while real aircraft components are being wheeled by puts the outcome into perspective makes it feel tangible. The atmosphere is lively and encouraging, people have been so willing to connect and all share a similar passion and sense of purpose about their work. As a trainee, you are treated as an employee and take ownership and responsibility of your projects (with support when you need it of course). This has been the most incredible way to meaningfully contribute and to learn. The rotational aspect of the program is so valuable; experience from other business units, teams, and locations has deepened my understanding and connected me more deeply with the company.
